This coffee is part of the Girls Gotta Run Foundation which supports Ethiopian women and girls in developing running skills and becoming professional athletes. Coffee from this particular lot sponsors Trailblazing Zelalem, after whom the lot was named. Zelalem is 20 years old and is completing her first year in University. She lives in Sodo with her parents and seven siblings. She’s the first in her family to attend University and hopes to become an accountant. Her favorite subjects in school have been math and English. In her freetime, Zelalem enjoys hanging out with her siblings and reading at her house. Her father is a guard at the local prison and her mother sells homemade goods at the market to support the family. Zelalem looks forward to continuing her college education and hopes to help her country when she graduate.
