Amukui, Kenya whole bean or ground coffee

£31.00 - £36.00 / kg

An unusually nuanced Kenyan coffee with a subtle caramel sweetness and hint of pear drop. Sweetens more as it cools

Product Price

Amukui is a democratic co-operative of small-holders operating in the Kendara District in central Kenya. Each of the seven coffee growing areas here elects a representative to sit on the co-op board. The co-op takes care of every stage of producing the coffee, from growing and harvesting through processing in one of their five wet mills.

This coffee is unusual for a Kenyan. The acidity is more subdued with a pear drop initial flavour cooling to a light, sweet caramel. It tastes it’s best from around 4 days after roasting when it develops more depth of flavour and a more pronounced sweetness than when its fresher.
